Skinfood!

Hello!! Hope all of you had great weekends! Mine turned to be quite a busy one as I made trips to the downtown LA area all in workings efforts for the ISA Festival coming up this weekend! I'll post the video ad at the end. :]

Anyways, I met up with my good high school friend for a day of...SHOPPING! We actually hit up two malls (I know, right?). I actually bought stuff! And at H&M!...but I won't be showing them to you guys just yet. heh. What I do want to share with you guys is my recent discovery of a "Skin Food" location! As we were walking to our main destination for going to mall #2, I spotted "Skin Food" in the same familiar font as the Korean cosmetic brand! And as we walked closer to it, we entered such a cute little store filled with Skin Food products! My friend had mentioned that she liked their nail polish, so upon entering, we went straight for the section lined up with the cute little bottles of polish. The girl working there was super sweet and nice and first gave us a sample of the Black Sugar Mask, and afterwards...gave us a sample of the Rice Mask Wash off (even before buying anything~ she's good. lol)

I bought one bottle of the Milky Creamy Nail Polish in PK001.
Look how nicely wrapped the little bag is! And she included even more of the masks samples!

I was totally not prepared to find such a store on our little, casual shopping trip, and now I want to go back and pick up some more things to try! -sigh- I don't know if having this store so close to me is a good thing after all...lol.

Have any of you tried Skin Food products? Any recommendations?

Thanks for reading! I leave you with the trailer for the event I'll be working at:

It's gonna be BIG. I've worked at quite a few ISA shows prior to this one...but...dude, this one will be one for the records. Excited. Nervous. Anxious. Scared. lol. If any of you guys are in the area, please come!

Birchbox x Smashbox Event Recap (+ more?)

Hello everyone! Hope you guys had a great week! Now it's time for us to unwind for the upcoming weekend. Yay! I had quite a Thursday as I had to run to 3 drugstores just to get a prescription fulfilled for my brother. Aigoo. Such a headache, but everything worked out in the end. Oh, and while doing so, if you guys saw my tweet, there were these high school girls who basically took up the make-up section, sitting on the ground, opening up the lipsticks and lipglosses. Ew. -shivers- Kids these days...I swear.

Anyways! On a much, much happier note. I'm here to share with you guys my recap of Birchbox's First Anniversary event! It was held last evening at the Smashbox Studio in LA and was free for Birchbox subscribers. I'm not a Birchbox subscriber (though I do look forward to seeing what people get in their Birchboxes...is that weird? lol), but my good friend, Kristine is! She forwarded me the email invite and I told her we should check it out! So we did.

My outfit for the night. Wore my brown suede heeled boots. Woot.

Candy bar! Along with somes strawberries on the side. This area was almost completely wiped out by the end of the night. (Guilty. Tried to take an much candy as I could back home with me.)

Guests lining up to be "touched-up"/made over by the pros of Smashbox!

Towards the back of the studio space was where celebrity photography Stephen Khan took head shots for the guests. To the right were Smashbox products that the MAs were using that were available for purchase.

Wee. There's me.

The little complimentary cocktail bar.

Oooh, glowing. I'm easily amused.

The pink tables for guests to stand at. DJ in the back who rocked the night!

Trying to get an "aerial" view.

Smashbox MAs working their magic.

My non-alcoholic cranberry juice. :3 I don't drink...because I can't. (That's for another story...lol)

The MA whose hair was "out of this world". So space-y!

Our MA that touched us up with some blush and contour!

Overall, I had a great time! It was my first time attending such a beauty event along with fellow beauty gals. Even though I'm not (yet) a subscriber of Birchbox, going to this gave me incentive to join in on their monthly subscription! They seem like a great company and have come quite a ways this past year. I feel like they will continue to grow throughout the years in the beauty community. AND, I have a greater appreciated for Smashbox. I do have some of their limitless eyeliners, which I still do like to use, but they've got me looking further into what products they have to offer. Oh no! Bank account...watch out!

Thank you for inviting me, Kristine! (Do check her blog out if you haven't already.) I'm glad we decided to go and check it out. Definitely an upgrade for our fail attempt at FNO, right? And with a box of goodies to go along with it. (And inspiring us to contour + blush some more!)

Birchbox x Smashbox was kind enough to provide all guests with a complimentary Birchbox to take home! Seeing that this is my first Birchbox EVER, here are some pictures of my un-opening:

Wrapped so nicely! Loving the colors.

How cute! Mini versions of: Limitless Eye Liner in "Onyx" (I have a bigger mini size of this and I do like it), Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss SPF 15 in "24/7", Bionic Mascara in "Jet Black", and a small tube of Photo Finish Luminizing Foundation Primer.

Trying to get a better look at my FOTD w/contour:

The "NAKED" palette. Yay for soft, smokey-eyes. :]

Thank you guys for reading! Now that I have attended this event, I look forward to more!

And, where are my LA heads at? :D

I'll definitely be here for this one! Currently working on some preparations for the event. It's going to be a busy week!

Clothes Minded.

Hello there. It's been a nice Wednesday so far with my routine blog catch ups and "Protect the Boss" watching (going to be on episode 13!), though I added in an emapanda to the mix. Yum!

Today, I wanted to FINALLY share with you guys my first Goodwill experience. It was my first time ever venturing out to a Goodwill store, so I didn't really know what to expect. Upon arrival, racks of clothing separated by type, style, and color all were laid out to be browsed through. Though a bit intimidating, I was quite excited to see what was in store for me and my curiosity.

Though I did not go through ever rack, as I found it to be a bit intimidating, I did find two items!

The jean cropped jacket that I've been getting a lot good wear out of. After discounts, this was $7.99. Yes, a bit pricey for second hand used clothes, but it was in an "almost new" condition and fit me so well. Jean jackets were coming back in style for the summer and after seeing similar styles at Forever 21 for $30, my purchase had been worth it. :]

The second item I got was this beige tailored vest. I thought it was a cute piece for layering as it is quite fitting and would go well over a plan white tee/tank and some accessories to spice it up. ^^ This ended up being $2.99.

Overall, my first experience wasn't bad. I'm definitely not discouraged on venturing out to more thrift stores to find more "diamonds in the rough." Why? Because, after coming across the youtube channel, Clothes Encounters, a new breath of personal fashion hit me hard. Both girls, Sarah and Jenn, really have an eye out for what they look for while thrift shoppings and I find them truly inspiring! I love how they rock the bright/bold lip colors in the videos as well.

(And they make me want to buy a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Litas!)

The only thing holding me back? The $159.95 that I currently don't have to splurge (click). -sigh- One day. For now, I'll just keep dreaming.

Also, while on the subject of clothing, Lauren Conrad has launched her own clothing line, "Paper Crown", which is supposed to reflect that "LA Girl" style. Here are some of my picks from her previously released look book:

My favorite look out of the bunch.
(The rest of the lookbook - credits to fashionista.com)

There isn't really anything special about her line of clothing form these pictures. I do like the simplicity of style and the choice of brighter, neutral colors for that young, but mature look, but for the prices, it's nothing that I'd spend so much on. To be honest, I can see such outfits being recreated with much affordable alternatives like H&M or even ASOS. I personally have been trying to venture out into new styles that fit the "me" criteria...slowly getting there.

And to end today's post, is Bubzbeauty's recap of her ventures to NYC for Fashion Week/Fashion's Night Out! (-sigh- yes, not a kpop video. lol.) I actually tried attending a local FNO event with a friend, but it ended up being a dud. No one was there...minus the two of us. Sadface. Should've braved the crowd at the Beverly Center. Oh well. There's almost next year! Hoping to revisit NYC too some day. -sigh-

Loved her heeled loafers she picked out btw!

And an extra read that I found to be truly inspiring. Here's a little excerpt from the blog post:
I take notice when incredible things happen–whether big or small. And I use it as an opportunity to be gracious, while repeating with a smile, “I am the luckiest person in the world. Good things happen to me. Everything is falling into place perfectly.”

Click for the rest. I have been trying to repeat this new mantra, and it feels great. Life is too short for us not to look on the bright side of things. Sure we have our stresses and worries, but we shouldn't let them overtake the beauty of feeling alive and appreciating all that life has to offer.

Thank you for reading. ♡

Colorburst Moon Drops.

Annyeong! Hope all of you are having a fantastic day. I've been having a pretty amazing one as a matter of fact! hehe. I'll explain as you read this post. ♡

First! I will get into the lippies that I purchased today from my local CVS (when I originally was supposed to fill up for gas...). For this week's drugstore sales according to Nouveau Cheap, the Super Lustrous, Moon Drops and ColorBurst lipcolor (includes glosses!) are on sale now with $5 extra bucks on each! I've been wanting to try Revlon lippies, so I figured now would be the perfect time to pick out some.

Revlon Moon Drops in 702 "BLASE APRICOT" & Colorburt in "SOFT NUDE". I really like the packaging of these lippies, as I find them to be very simple and sleek. The green and gold reminds me of the "color blocking" trend that was pretty popular during the summer, while black casing lipsticks always give off that classic feel.

"softest nude" and "blase apricot" - From my first time trying them, I find both formulas to be very creamy. All I need to do was glided it on. It was very easy to build up the opacity as well.

Walgreens is also having a sale at 40% off all Revlon products. ^^ I was only limit two lippies per household at my CVS, but apparently it's based on your region. Some CVS locations allow for a max of 6! So be on the look out if interested! :]

Have you guys tried out any Revlon lippies? What are some of your favorites?
Recommendations please~! ^^

Those on you whom are familiar with GROUPON (referral link), do you find it difficult to use up your groupons in time before the expire? lol. That's what I almost did this week. I had two groupons for the same place...and I thought I wasn't going to use them up. Luckily I did though, but even if I didn't...I technically would have only lost out on $8.

From Sunday: my "Cheer Up Cup" is on the left. Combination of vanilla ice cream and cherry, guava, strawberry shaved ice! On the left is "Spongebob Snow Pants". Combination of coconut ice cream and pineapple, orange shaved ice.

From today: my "The Joker" is on the left. Combination of vanilla ice cream and grape, green apple shaved ice. On the right is "Tropical Swell". Combination of vanilla ice cream, passion fruit...and some other things. ^^

The combination of ice cream and shaved ice might seem a bit strange, but it is in fact, super delicious! If it were closer by my house, I'd probably go more often just to try more of their flavors. XD Definitely a sweet treat since it seems to be getting hotter again. Aish.

Hope you guys have enjoyed this post! To end this one will be the music video from JYJ that was just released this evening. They're releasing a new LG Optimus phone (that I want!) through this music video. But damn, do they look mighty fine! *o* I was spazzing like no other since 6:30PM today through texts, tweets, facebook, and tumblr. OMO. I love them too much. I even downloaded a torrent of a huge version of this so I can replay it in HD. Don't judge me. ♡ ;]

Now can you sense why my day has turned out to be so amazing? Keke. Oh and I'm going to be on episode 11 of "Protect the Boss". Ugh, Cha Mu Won...how do I find myself falling for your character ever harder as I keep on watching. Aigoo. XD

Thanks so much for reading!! ♡

BYE BYE!...until next time

Wrap it up!

Hello guys! Hope ya'll are having a great weekend. :] Mine has been pretty chill. Just had work and then came home to take a nice nap. Felt so good!

For today, I wanted to share with you guys my favorite type of basic bracelet to wear with outfits, and that is the "leather wrap around." I find that they're very fun and add texture to other simple looking bracelets. When pairing together the right kind of bracelets, it adds that extra spark to a plain outfit with such a minor detail.

Here's an example with a simple, studded leather wrap bracelet:

The detailing of the studs makes this bracelet not as plain, but...

when paired with another bracelet, it adds a pop of color along with even more texture, while also balancing the silver studded look.

More examples of leather wraps:

I've been loving these stretchy pastel + gold beaded bracelets to pair with everything. Though they may seem more appropriate for the spring and/or summer time, they can also go for the upcoming fall/winter to add color to all the neutrals that are known to be worn during the colder months of the year. ^^ I got them recently from H&M for only $3.95. :]

Brown braided & white studded wrap bracelets all purchased from various sellers on ebay for around $1 or so. Click here for some examples. (Did I ever mention how much I love Ebay? XD)

I've been on the look out for more bracelets that I can "pile on" for that layering bracelet look that I've seen plenty of times on various fashion blogs. It's a trend that I do really like...but it looks easier that it really is. (Or for me at leawst...heh heh). But yes, everyone has their own personal fashion sense. If you want to wear it, just work it! ♡

Ok, here's another Cha Mu Won video from the kdrama "Protect the Boss" to end my post with. Hehe, (I'm following the trend of ending my posts now w/vids thanks to shinyprettythings9♥. Now you guys will get a better sense of my fangirlism...kpop since 2006! I feel old.)

Ok. Dead. On to episode 9! Trying not to speed through it too much since...I don't want it to end just yet!
