LIFE AS I KNOW IT

Buttery smooth; Basic FOTD

Happy Friday! Hope you all of you had a wonderful week. Been trying to keep busy with holiday shopping while also keeping my hopes up for a job. I know it's rare for companies to hire during the holiday season, but I'm hopeful enough to hold onto to this one.

Lately I haven't been wearing my contacts (yup, I don't have 20/20 vision unfortunately), which means I haven't been using much make-up...until today. Yes, you can call it lazy, but I take it as letting my skin breathe. Doesn't that sound more pleasant? heh. Though today, while going running some errands and doing a bit of holiday shopping, I decided to put a little more time before stepping out with my bare face.

Here are the products used:

Hanskin Caviar BB Cream - Sent to me by Kat; I feel as if this BB cream is a tiny bit too light for me, but I do feel it gives a decent amount of coverage for what it is.

GOSH Velvet Liner in "Black Ink" - from my swap with Vicky; It's been a while since I've picked up this liner, but it was because the white label was so darn hard to take off! But, after some scratching and pulling, was able to get enough off so I could get a good sharpen out of it. I do like this liner. It's not the blackest of black, but it definitely glides on smoothly, like "velvet."

Physician's Formula Rx Concealer in Fair Light - I don''t like this concealer. I find that it's quite thick, and when trying to blend it out...I see it seeping into those tiny lines in my under eye area. Eh. Plus, a little goes a very long way in this case.

Sleek Eyeshadow Palette in "Sunset" - also from my swap with Vicky; Sleek shadows are so pretty...but I haven't done much playing with them yet. Hoping to do a post on this palette (or at least have swatches) because the color pay off is really nice. I "x"ed the shades I used: middle two layered for the lid, and then the far right shade on the outer half/blended into the crease.

Maybellne Dream Matte Powder in "Medium Sand" - The basic powder that I set my T-zone with. It's not cakey and does the trick. It does give a slight color, but I don't mind as I feel I need as much color as I can get. heh.

ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in "Sun Kissed" - Used as an all over color/glow to the face. It's shimmery, but not too overbearing.

Physician's Formula Happy Booster Blush in "Natural" - A really nice, "natural" blush that gives a nice flush to the cheeks. The imprinted heart design is super cute too!

Revlon Lip Butter in "Berry Smoothie" - LOVE THIS LIP BUTTER! Will be doing a comprehensive post on these too. But on first impressions, the color payoff is great! Though they only last at most 3 hours, they do feel very smooth on the lips. I really love this shade as well. Looking forward to trying some of the others.

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in "Sunny" - Matte brown for contouring. Simple as that.

Skin Food Lettuce & Cucumber Water Mist - A new favorite of mine. I'll explain why in a separate post, but for now, I love this as a setting spray. Also, since the weather here is finally cooling down, my dry patches are coming out. Oh dear! But no fret, this spray gives me that extra moisture needed. It feels really lovely too!

Have a lovely weekend! xx

  1. :D It's great to let your skin breathe! That reminds me I probably ought to go and take my makeup off now since I am not going anywhere this evening!...I'll do it later XD

How bad are your eyes? Mine are pretty awful. LOL

Such a pretty look! I loooooove the way the lip butter looks on you! apparently we don't have them over here (said a fellow British blogger who was asking around on twitter, I have no idea, I never looked to start with! I'm still quite happy with my Dior lip glow, but I assume it's really similar?) And yeah you definitely don't need any proper foundie! Your skin looks lovely the way it is! BB cream is perfectly adequate! :D

Yayyy for eyeliner! XD We'll show Dorothy eyeliner club is ftw! Although I say that I am actually wearing mascara today too! LOL

  5. I like this basic look. I'm very minimalistic when it comes to make up so this is something I wear a lot. I love the colour on your lips. Lip butter sounds amazing. Have been reading about this on so many beauty blogs!

  13. It is! LOL. Oh I have that habit of leaving make-up on while I'm at home. I think tell myself to keep it on incase there's a last minute outing out. XD

I guess mine aren't TOO bad compared to many I've seen...(goes to show how much I know from working at an optometry office..lol). I think I'm -2.00 on one eye and -3.00 on the other? Something like that.

Awwww thank youuuu!!! I've never tried Dior lip glow but from reviews, they do seem to have the same texture and feel. Will post about them soon (I hope ^^). Aww, and thank you again! Maybe I should find a very sheer/light foundation. Do let me know how the MUFE works on ya!

HAHA. Eyeliner club FTW! XD Boo to Dorothy and her big Asian eyes. lol. Oooo! Did you take pics? I request for a FOTD w/mascara! :]

    Hope you're doing well!
