I've received my very first Sleek palette from Vicky, who is one of the sweetest bloggers I know and am grateful to have gotten to know quite well this past year. ♡ She sent me the Sleek "Sunset" e/s palette during out first swap!
Fast forward to today, I've come prepared to worked with some colors! Still on the neutral side since the "color" I used was purple, but it's still a new change for me. (I am determined to use the orange in a look! Maybe something inspired? I'll make it work. ;])
Had a lovely afternoon in Beverly Hills today. Walking amongst the "rich" and where they "shop"...there's something fun and exciting about it. Took many pictures so I'll be doing a "place post" again soon! Many other posts to come like one on lip butters, US L'oreal Infallibles, my attempts at applying falsies, plus many more!
Oh, and I'm going to a schmancy dinner tomorrow night so...an OOTD post as well? It's schmancy, hence I need to get schmancy-fied... but I'm super excited! (though my friend told me to prepare myself for a FEAST...omo).
To be honest, I was a bit intimidated with the colors since I had nothing like it in my collection! Hence, I didn't touch these for..quite a while. Actually, I used the teal blue and..gold I think once when I went to the vet and kbbq~ lol. Hopefully I didn't scare off any of the doggies or kitties...

Hope you all are having a beautiful day!
It was in the mid-80s here and I burned up! Winter weather...where you at?
so pretty!! you always look so gorgeous :)!
ReplyDeletehaha i love that shmancy so you have to get shmancy-fied! YES shmancy OOTD PLEASE!! :)
YES OOTD would be awesome! I actually quite like those colors in the palette, im a neutral kinda girl.
ReplyDeleteOOOOOO love the colours in this palette and love them on you! ^^ I thought you wore the shades beautifully!
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see the pics from beverly hills and I vote YES to the OOTD! :D Yayyyyy!!!
Do a FOTD with the teal, the teal!
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy Chinese New Year - I spy your CNY deco thingy on the door, hehe :P
I love the sleek pallets, such good quality for the price. I gave you an award on my blog, check it out :D xoxo
ReplyDeleteI always hear so many great things about Sleek palettes!! However, I do understand why you were a bit hesitant with the colors. I usually stick with neutral colors and when seeing such bright ones I guess I'd be in the same situation. Seriously, I have no idea how to work with teal or orange. lol
ReplyDeleteCute look... not daring enough for me ;) You know I go color-crazy! But it is definitely flattering and pretty :) Oooh Beverly Hills, how fun :D
ReplyDeleteLovely but you totally need to slap that bright blue all over the lid xD
ReplyDeleteOooh schmancy! we need a pic of your schmancy-fied!
Sleek palettes are so good! Such good colour payoff and so cheap too. I used to wear bright colours all the time but now I stick with more neutrals. Though all the colours apart from that bright blue aren't too bad to work with. Looking lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe Sleek shadows are so pigmented. I received one in a blog swap, but still haven't used it yet in a look. Shame on me >.< The look you did looks nice! The colors are still very wearable :)
ReplyDeletecute look! So pigmented.. is this palette chalky or anything? tempted to try some Sleek palettes but I don't know about the actual quality of them :) Would u recommend this palette? :D
ReplyDeleteI was really intimidated by the Sunset palette too! But once I started playing around with it the colours are actually workable. Love your look! Looking forward to your OOTD too! :)
ReplyDeleteok idk if you did it intentionally but i am freaking bc the title of your post is a Big Bang song hahaha ^o^
ReplyDeletethis palette is so bright!!! love it. and a beautiful fotd as usual XD use the brighter colors next time!!!
Hehe you can totally work the orange! Maybe mixed with some gold all over your lid, then orange in the outer corners? Hopefully it's not super opaque so you can layer it nicely.
ReplyDeleteLooking good! It's going to be fun for you to be daring and try out different eyeshadow colors. I can't wait to see the results.
ReplyDeleteNice! Lovely fotd
ReplyDeleteOooh looking forward to Bev Hills post :D
this is a pretty day time smokey! I ought to pick up a sleek palette next time! I always tell myself to pick one up but always end up not lol
ReplyDeletewow! I've heard a lot of good things about SLEEK Palette this day.. :) makes me wanna have one so badly. hahahahaha :D btw, love the subtle look you got there! :D
ReplyDeleteAw, you should totally get one for yourself! The colors are very pigmented and are really easy to blend. :] Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! You should!! :D They have a good variety of brights and neutrals~
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joey! ^^
ReplyDeleteI posted it just now~ :D
Yes! Playing with colors from time to time is definitely fun. ;D
ReplyDeleteI'll try that the next time! :D Thanks for the recommendation. It'll definitely be a "sunset" inspired look!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I did. Glad you caught that...keke.
ReplyDeleteIt is!! Awww~ senku. Will do (or at least try to~).
I'm still gonna try out that one look you did with this same palette! XD Thank you!!! I'll post that soon. :]
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Nope~ not chalky at all! I haven't officially swatched all the shades yet, but none are matte so these are extra buttery and easy to blend. :D I would!
ReplyDeleteI saw you posted about it on your blog (which I'll be catching up on soon). ;D I know...shame on me too! This palette deserves its full post too. :3 Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteTHEY ARE! I'm jealous that the UK has such a good drugstore brand like Sleek. XD Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteLOL. I'll try the next time I pull out this palette. XD
ReplyDeleteWill do a full schmancified post soon!
Thank you! haha. I'm slowly getting into the colors~ XD Yess~ just did a post on BH!
ReplyDeleteHaha. I think working in colors with neutrals is the best way to go for starters. It's what I'm going to try...hehe. XD
