Short Hiatus: Get Well Soon, Niles

Hello everyone! It feels like forever since my last post. =/ But, the reason is because our cat, Niles, is really sick. My mom took him into the vet on Monday where they gave him 3 shots and IV fluids since he was really dehydrated. Then, on Wednesday my mom received a call from the vet...breaking the news to us that he in fact has feline leukemia. =[ It was quite a traumatic day, to the point where my mom thought it would be too much to put Niles through all the treatment...BUT, I'm glad she changed her mind.

It's been stressful with the force feeding around 3 times a day and the IV fluids once a day we've been giving to him at home, but my mom and I both feel that he really is doing a lot better because of it. Before, he was always crouching down, always looking tired, but today, he actually slept with his whole body relaxed on the ground, and also walking around more, as well as sleeping on top of my mom's bed (which he hasn't done in the longest time.) He's also meowing more and showing more affection as well. ^^ Slowly, but surely, he's on the road to becoming his normal self.

So yes, it's been a real emotional roller coaster this past week, but we're all getting through it one step at a time. :] Will be taking a hiatus until things settle down a bit more...but hopefully I won't be away for too long. Hope all of you guys are doing well!

    Hope Niles gets well.... poor baby! I know how pets aren't really just "pets" to some people (myself included), so having a sick member of the family is hard... hang in there! *HUGS*

    Oh no! Poor Niles! I hope that he recovers quickly. Receiving news like that is certainly devastating so please take all of the time that you and Niles need. Hime chan and I will be praying for you all.

    I'm so sorry to hear about cat's illness, it's so precious.  My best wishes to his recovery and treatment.
