All About Cheek NARS Danmari

I tend to lag on sharing posts on recent buys, be it make-up or not, but I seriously couldn't wait any longer to do a post on my purchase from Sephora! I received it last Friday night *cues KTP* and was so ecstatic to see it waiting at my doorstep. Though I failed to use the 20% code T_T, I'm still happy as heck to have this palette as part of my collection.

Love the box that it came in. It made it seem like it was Christmas already with that red trim on top of the black. It also reminded me of the boxes that designer bags/wallets come in. FANCY.

Opening: The palette was nicely encased in a velvet like padding. Very secure so this baby doesn't budge!

For $65, the palette includes 6 shades. A highlight, a bronzer, and four blushes.

Opening again: A nice NARS plastic covering to protect the powders from getting onto the mirror. Very much reminded me of the Sleek E/S palettes.

In comparison to the Sleek palette, the mirror is big as well! It's a little bit bigger than the Sleek one, and I approve! Almost like a full view vanity in one palette.

Swatches: L-R; Hungry Heart (highlight), Orgasm (peachy pink with golden shimmer), Desire (cotton candy pink), Casino (bronzer), Super Orgasm (peachy pink with gold glitter), Sin (berry with gold shimmer).

As this being my first NARS purchase ever, I am super impressed! I've read so many good things about NARS blushes, but I always thought the price tag of $27 was a bit steep for me (brozers are $33). BUT, when I saw that Sephora had this limited edition blush palette for $65 (averaging around $11 each), I had to get one for myself. I guess my only complaint on a first impression basis would be the addition of "Super Orgasm" as there's already the cult fav "Orgasm", but eh. I'll live. Though it looks very glittery, in the swatch, the glitters aren't too too obvious.

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. The quality of the highlighter, bronzer, and blushes are fantastic from first swatch. No wonder so many have raved so much about these!! I'll definitely be putting great use into this palette for a very VERY long time. It is not in stock at the moment on the Sephora website, but if you happen to catch it when it does go back into stock and have been wanted to try NARS blushes out, I recommend it 100%!

For any of you that have already tried NARS blushes, any recommendations?

I tried out "Sin" along with "Hungry Heart" and "Casino." All were very pigmented, so I used a light hand for both the blush and bronzer. Especially with the bronzer; if applied too heavily, it definitely made me look muddy. Must be careful!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL OF YOU! Halloween used to be one of my favorite holidays growing up due to dressing up and trick-or-treating. As I got older, that tradition kinda faded out. Oh well. It's still a fun holiday. Might end up getting some discounted Halloween candy tomorrow. Muahaha.

This Week in Photos ♡ 10/24-10/30

Hello lovelies. Hope all of you had a wonderful week!! This week was very chill and low key for me, which I am so grateful for. I've been trying my best to stay strong, and I think it's working. :]

Some of my favorite posts to read on blogger are the ones that are summed up in photos. I find that one's individual perspective is so fascinating. As the saying goes "Perspective is everything."

Beef egg noodle soup on a cold night // Mini version of the Matterhorn // Home cooked friends rice + yakisoba // I love my f21 ankled oxfords // Free L'Occitane cream! Picked up another one as well. // NARS Danmari ♡ // Flashing Lights @ Universal City Walk! // Sparky's mini donuts~ nom! // First time trying Argentinean food. So delicious.

Lazy Day.

Hello! Hope you all had a great day. :] My day turned out to be ehhh. Cramps all day. Yes, it's that time of the month. -sigh- Took two naps, but it felt so good since it was quite chilly in the morning. Now I feel like it's getting warmer again. -sigh-

Didn't do much today because of it...except catching up on stuff and adding China Glaze's Crackle in "Platinum Pieces" to my current nails. I like the platinum silver with the pink peeking through. :D

And, I was also trying to get more apps for my phone (aka just playing around...lol). My shinyuu came over to bring filipino spaghetti, turon, and empanadas last night and my mom and I feasted on it all today. -sigh- All gone.

Yeah, day wasn't very productive. Meh. Until next time~ ♡ Oh, and I think my NARS blush palette will be arriving tomorrow night. Yay! Excited.

Pink me up!

Woo. Finally back with another post. Been kind of failing at keeping up with my blogroll but, hopefully I'll be caught up soon. It was raining a bit here earlier this week, but it seems like the weather will be heating up by this weekend again. Aigoo...it's October (and almost November!!)

I got a new phone! Switched over to T-Mobile (still hoping to switch over my old number...) but I'm liking it. At first I was a bit intimidated by it's size, but I'm really enjoying it and becoming very familiar with everything. My first smartphone! Yeah, no iPhone for me. Maybe in the next 2 years. haha.

Today, I wanted to share with you guys two PINK me ups. :] (All pics taken with my new phone ^^)

Skin Food Milk Creamy Nail in PK001 & Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch

One is the Skin Food polish that I had picked up on my first discovery of the location. I love the color as it can easily be worn all year as a muted pink for the fall winter and a salmon pink in the spring and summer.

I really like the formula of this one. It's thick enough to apply two coats for a nice, opaque finish. There's also tiny flicks of shimmer, which I also love! Subtle addition to the shininess. It's a little more expensive than what I'd usually spend on a polish ($5), but I figured I'd try it. Now I want more!

Next is the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm! I've been reading and watching youtube vids of these last month. I think I first saw them in Holly Ann Rae's favorites vid(?) and she said she really liked "Pink Punch" out of all of them so...I figured I'd go try it out for myself too! My friend JK sent me a Nivea lipbalm that has a red tint, so I figured a pink one would be fun to try!

It's a nice size with a twisty bottom. Bigger than typical lip balms. It also has an SPF of 20! Nice bonus! The formula is nice as well. Not waxy at all. AND it smells sweet too, which I like...though for some, it may be a turn off.

Very pigmented for a lip balm, I say!

Swatched. Pink and shiny! :]

I bought this at CVS but I've also seen it at Rite Aid. (I assume it would be at Walgreens, too). These retail for around a $3.50-$4.00 depending on where you go. I actually picked up an extra "Pink Punch" for an upcoming giveaway that I'm slowly working on, so stay tuned for that!

And one last mention....SEPHORA'S F&F SALE! Want to read about my major fail? lol. On the first day of the sale, the site was super laggy for me and probably every other person accessing it. By the time I got the site to load smoothly, a lot of my wants were out of stock. =[ So, I was about to order the MUFE Mat Velvet foundation, Powder WoWza from Benefit, and the Sephora airbrush foundation brush...but I waited. Next morning, the NARS Danmari All About Cheeks Palette was back in stock! So, being super excited, I quickly ordered it...only to realize that I didn't apply my 20% code! FAIL!!! I was so sad...and am still sad. lol. But it's ok. I still have some time to order some more stuff if I decide to...but dang it!

Have any of you guys caved into this 20% discount?

That's all for now. Oh! And one more thing. Happy Birthday to two of my blogger chingoos!! Kat and Vicky!! Wishing them both a wonderful birthday. ♡

Here's some kpop boys for you all. Been stuck on this song for a while. Groovin...chyeahh~ keke.

HELLO JELLO.

Hello there! I'm back with an official "comeback" post! I've really missed the blogging/blogger world while I was away. =[ With the lack of writing and blog post readings from all those whom I follow...I felt so distanced! But, I'm back and I hope to be updating as often as I was prior to my little hiatus. Hope you all have been doing well!!

Let's see...where shall I begin? ISA!

Water girl? lol. FM in the back!

I've been volunteering at the annual ISA concerts since 2011, but this year's was HUGE! Despite the hectic and confusion, I had a great time. Reuniting with friends from the Bay, meeting new people, experiencing "diva-ness" from B.o.B. *shakesfist*, and just having a great time overall was what made it all worth it. I enjoyed the busy-ness of that whole week/weekend. It felt good having to do something every day. :P Until next time!!

Working hard! I really like my hair here...

Always smiling, even at the end of the day.

Here's a more detailed recap I wrote for 4CTHEPOWER: Click here

And now, on to food! I finally got around to trying "UMAMI"!

My friend and I split the Umami burger as well as the Truffle burger. Truffle burger was my favorite, hands down. "Smushed" potatoes are in the back. We originally wanted the "cheesy tots", but when this came out, we figured we'd try it.

Turns out that our waiter brought out the cheesy tots at no charge. Woot!

The UMAMI stamp on the buns.

I didn't do much shopping that day. Just went along looking at expensive brands with my friend. She keeps mentioning the LV wallet that she wants (red one on the far left) as I went along and just looked. lol. I think she'll be settling for a burberry one though, which is around 1/4 of the price. LOL.

I did buy this new HK case for me new phone!! Isn't it cute? ;]

And here's two more pics to end this post..

First Press JYJ album! ♡ It's so pretty...and big.

I tried out a "smokey" eye look last night for fun before I took a shower. I really liked the way it turned out and everyone whom I've shared this picture with has given me good feedback about it.

WnW palette in "Lust", Sleek blush in "Rose Gold" (can't really see), and MAC Dazzle Glass in "It's a Girl"

I have plenty of more review/beauty posts to come! But I shall end this one for now. ♡ Time to do some blog reading!!

Thank you guys for all the love through the comments. I truly appreciate them. It'll take more time for this time to pass, but all that has happened has helped me grow into a stronger person. I'll be ok. And I have so much more happy things to share with you guys!!

I'm now a blogger for my non-profit organization, 4CTHEPOWER and have officially "published" my first blog!!
