I tend to lag on sharing posts on recent buys, be it make-up or not, but I seriously couldn't wait any longer to do a post on my purchase from Sephora! I received it last Friday night *cues KTP* and was so ecstatic to see it waiting at my doorstep. Though I failed to use the 20% code T_T, I'm still happy as heck to have this palette as part of my collection.
Love the box that it came in. It made it seem like it was Christmas already with that red trim on top of the black. It also reminded me of the boxes that designer bags/wallets come in. FANCY.
Opening: The palette was nicely encased in a velvet like padding. Very secure so this baby doesn't budge!
For $65, the palette includes 6 shades. A highlight, a bronzer, and four blushes.
Opening again: A nice NARS plastic covering to protect the powders from getting onto the mirror. Very much reminded me of the Sleek E/S palettes.
In comparison to the Sleek palette, the mirror is big as well! It's a little bit bigger than the Sleek one, and I approve! Almost like a full view vanity in one palette.
Swatches: L-R; Hungry Heart (highlight), Orgasm (peachy pink with golden shimmer), Desire (cotton candy pink), Casino (bronzer), Super Orgasm (peachy pink with gold glitter), Sin (berry with gold shimmer).
As this being my first NARS purchase ever, I am super impressed! I've read so many good things about NARS blushes, but I always thought the price tag of $27 was a bit steep for me (brozers are $33). BUT, when I saw that Sephora had this limited edition blush palette for $65 (averaging around $11 each), I had to get one for myself. I guess my only complaint on a first impression basis would be the addition of "Super Orgasm" as there's already the cult fav "Orgasm", but eh. I'll live. Though it looks very glittery, in the swatch, the glitters aren't too too obvious.
Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. The quality of the highlighter, bronzer, and blushes are fantastic from first swatch. No wonder so many have raved so much about these!! I'll definitely be putting great use into this palette for a very VERY long time. It is not in stock at the moment on the Sephora website, but if you happen to catch it when it does go back into stock and have been wanted to try NARS blushes out, I recommend it 100%!
For any of you that have already tried NARS blushes, any recommendations?
I tried out "Sin" along with "Hungry Heart" and "Casino." All were very pigmented, so I used a light hand for both the blush and bronzer. Especially with the bronzer; if applied too heavily, it definitely made me look muddy. Must be careful!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL OF YOU! Halloween used to be one of my favorite holidays growing up due to dressing up and trick-or-treating. As I got older, that tradition kinda faded out. Oh well. It's still a fun holiday. Might end up getting some discounted Halloween candy tomorrow. Muahaha.
