Feature: Butterfly Blogger Award

Hi lovlies! I was awarded the "Butterfly Award" by a fellow blogger, Yami, who is super sweet and has a great blog herself filled with great reviews, pictures, swatches, and even food pics! I still remember that post where she ate at a ramen place and I was craving it so badly. lol.

Award rules:
Award 7 others and write 15 random things about yourself.

Here goes the 15 random facts... :3

1. I'm half Japanese and half Chinese. My dad is Japanese, while my mom is Chinese. Both are super Americanized so, we don't speak any other language but English at home.

2. I'm almost 10 years older than my younger siblings, whom are twins (one boy, one girl). But, age ain't nothing but a number, right? ;]

3. I'm a lefty when it comes to writing, but for eating and throwing a ball, I use my right hand. But, when it comes to applying make-up or washing the dishes, I tend to switch hands whenever I feel like it. lol.

4. I don't swear or cuss. I just feel, awkward doing so.

5. I don't have 20/20 vision and have been wearing glasses since 4th grade.

6. I started wearing eyeliner during my freshman year of high school, but it wasn't until recently that I really got into make-up.

7. I love blogging. I've been through most of the blogging phases ever since 7th or 8th grade: AOL, myspace, xanga, livejournal, and now blogspot! (I use tumblr too).

8. I've been a kpop/jpop lover (though I've toned down a lot) since 2006! Big Bang was my first love. (GD ♡)

9. The most epic trip I've been on was the summer of 2009 when I traveled to Japan to not only site-see, but to see my favorite band ever, Tohoshinki, in their "The Secret Code" Live Tour in Tokyo Dome.

10. I'm cheap. I feel guilty buying regular priced items, when I know I can find cheaper things in the sale/clearance sections. :D

11. I like word puns and making up my own words/word combinations.

12. I will not watch a scary/movie! I'd rather cry my eyes out during a sad, depressing movie than being scared..to death.

13. I used to be a Photoshop addict with graphic making as a hobby. I kinda miss it.

14. I LOVE DISNEYLAND. I think I'd much rather take a trip to Disneyland than, hanging out at a club..lol. I used to have an annual pass for the longest time but, not any more. SO SAD.

15. I'm an intern with a non-profit organization called 4CTHEPOWER who is very involved with the Asian community with such mentors like Far East Movement and Wongfu Productions (just to name a few).

I pass this award on to the following lovely ladies whom I've gotten to know through the blogging community:
Marie from All Things Marie
Mai from Portrait of Mai
Lisa from Lisa Loves Coco
Natasha from Ain't That Pretty
Kathy from Mai-Kat Oshaberi
Christina from Lipgloss N Heels

Favorites: Can't believe June is almost over!

Hi guys! I have a little bit of a surprise for you all. Like I've said before, I'm very soft spoken and I'm very...introverted (I guess you can say), but I decided that I really wanted to do another video where I'd talk and explain more things, so I did! It actually didn't take me long at all to film and it was fun for me to do. I wanted to do a bit of editing since one-takes usually aren't as clean/polished, so I took a little time looking up tutorials on how to edit in iMovie this morning! I think I got the hang of it now, meaning that I may be posting more videos SOONER in the near future (even if it's just random ones...heh heh) :D

So, I present to you guys....MY JUNE FAVORITES!

Review: Diamond Nail Enamel *Winwax*

Hello! Hope all of you are enjoying your day so far. Seems like it's gonna be a pretty hot, summer day here in SoCal. I'm meeting up some friends for an early dinner at Boiling Crab. Looking forward to that! Nom nom. :]

Anyways, it's been a super long time since I've done a review so I decided to do one on these super cute polishes that I've picked up from Daiso after the two trips I've made when in NorCal. Daiso is kind of like a 99 cents Japanese store, but everything is $1.50. I'm thinking about doing a video on Daiso, and talking about how much I like that store (and how there are no locations in the LA area! hmph!) We'll see. ^^

Diamond Nail Enamel *Winwax*

Price/Packaging: A steal for only $1.50 each! I love the packaging of these polishes. They're very slim with a thin, upright rectangular bottle along with a long brush applicator (very Japanese-y in my opinion -- KAWAII!)

Usage: Not your typical glitter polishes. The glitters in these are very fine and compacted, making the color of the glitter as the actual color of the polish. It's a bit shear, but can be built up easily. Drying time isn't as quick as I would like it to be, but it's ok. I don't mind. I feel like I have more control while holding the brushes due to it being longer than most typical polishes. These are great for quick manis.

Typical brush applicator, but it goes on smooth.

See how long the brush top is? I love it. So much control.

They don't have color names, but instead are classified under numbers.
The numbers I have are: 4, 9, and 12

Here are pics of how they look on my nails:
4: The lightest of the three. A light pink, pearlescent color. Super pretty.

9: A cute pink glitter. Kind of remind me of pink cotton candy. I think this color is perfect for the summer. It's cute and girly. ^^

12: A dark gray/black glitter. polish. Very edgy, but still very pretty due to the glitters.

Current mani: Brushed on a coat of my Black Shatter, which I haven't used ever since I picked up a bottle for myself, on top of 9. Seems like the formula got a little thick, but eh...it's alright.

I've always wanted the "Teenage Dream" OPI polish, but never got around to picking it up.
SO, I think this provides a nice alternative. :D

OVERALL: 9/10 - My only complaint would be the sheerness of the formula. BUT, I love how dainty the sparkles are so, I think it makes up for it.

Hope you guys liked this review. Maybe some of you guys have tried these nail polishes too? Let me know what you guys think of them. :] Or the store Daiso in general. Why doesn't LA have a location?? *stillbitter*.

Enjoy the rest of your day! ♡
(Might do a June favs video as well...hmm~)

Life: Weekend Getaway!

Hello lovelies! Skipped a few days of blogging, but I'm back! Took a quick vacay to the California coast for my sister's basketball tournament (hence why I couldn't make it to IMATS this year TT_TT) This tournament is pretty exclusive since teams have to be invited to play and be part of their "family." The family that hosts this tournament own a farm. A LEGIT FARM that grows such veggies as daikon and napa cabbage. Every year during this tournament, they cook up a storm for all the participants and their families. LEGIT BBQ and all the goodness of a home cooked meal. :D SO LEGIT!

It was a quick trip, but before we headed back home, my mom decided she wanted to go check out Morro Bay since we've always just stuck around Pismo Beach every time we visit. It's so pretty there! And yay for free parking! We thought there was going to be a beach area, but it literally was just a "bay." (boo) The weather was so beautiful today though. *happy*

Here are some pics from our little trip:
Morro Bay - literally just a "bay".

Known for that...big rock in the back. lol.

I HAVE WINGS! XD

I've been eating non-stop eating since Friday night. (STACKED burger was AWESOME too!) Feels so good to be back home though! Hope all of you enjoyed your weekend! Seems like I have a lot to catch up on again. ^^

Until my next post, じゃね〜!

OOTD: Summer graduations!

Hello lovelys! I'm back with another blog post! Woo, I'm on a roll! This post is a bit different (or I guess SUPER different) since I've included a video to go along with my OOTD! MY FIRST EVER! :D I've been wanting to try out posting videos and now that I have plenty of time on my hands, I decided, WHY NOT?

So yes, on to my video. It's super noobish and the lighting and quality is horrible due to it being early in the morning and how I filmed it using my MacBook's webcam. :3 But, hope you guys like it!

*hides in corner* Hopefully that wasn't too dreadful to watch. Simple, but, a success I guess? heh. Oh yeah! And now you guys know what I sound like and how I speak...lol.

Outfit pics:

Items pictured/in video:
Dress by Mimi Chica from Nordstrom Rack: Original Price $44, then marked down to $25.90, then to $14.97, and for me, $11 on red tag clearance!
Silver leather wrap-around bracelet: Nordstrom - got as a gift from my aunt last Christmas.
Dark charcoal gray bracelet cuff watch: Thailand from my dad's wife.
Purple flats (not pictured): size 39 uk (size 8 in us) - $5

And after I completed all of the filming and picture taking, this fool...

He's getting bigger! But, he's still got that baby kitten face. ^^ Such a lazy bum.

Anyways, here's a full faced make-up too. ;] I actually tried out the Lioele sampe of the 3D fix foundation~ I'll be posting a review on it in the near future~ Enjoy the rest of your day!

Deck the Hauls: Pretty & Cute

Hello! Hope all of you are having a wonderful day. The weather's been warming up here in SoCal pretty nicely. (Yay summer!) It hasn't been TOO hot yet, so hopefully it'll continue to be like this. *crosses fingers* I can finally bust out my sandals and shorts, too! Yee!

Ok, so on to a LONG over due post on my blog! I've been slowly getting back into beauty care, so I recently ordered two items for Pretty & Cute. I've read so many good things about the Asian brands and beauty products they sell so ever since I heard about this online store, I've been itching to make my first order! and I finally have and am super happy. And, just in time for me to get back into the habit of blogging! ^^

Shipping was speedy and efficient. I place my order on June 19 (Sunday) and it arrived today, June 22. I love that P&C uses USPS as well, making shipping costs super cheap (I paid $2.35). Their main store is based in Portland, Oregon and I'm from the LA area in California, so I was very pleased with their shipping. This store is definitely catered to the US, but the do ship internationally as well.

So, after looking at their web store and browsing through all of their products and "Oo-ing and aw-ing" at all of its prettiness, I settled and ordered two Lioele products (I originally wanted to try the Holika Holika Wonder Drawing Dot liner01, but it was sold out once I decided to place my order. BOO. I'll save that one for next time...):

Lioele Real Water Proof Eyeliner in black ($12.60) & Lioele Artist Auto Eyebrow in gray black ($14.00)

Black eye-liner is a staple item that I seriously CANNOT live without. I've been wanted to try new types of liners since I always tend to experience smudging throughout the day due to my oily lides SO, I was excited to find this product and try it out for myself. I've swatched it on my hand and compared it to my first and long time eye liner from Physicians formula and OH MY GOODNESS, there's such a huge difference! Can't wait to write a review on this one because I'm already loving it. :D

As for the eyebrow pencil, it's my first. :3 Yes, eyebrows have never been a focus of mine until recently (when I first got them threaded). I never have owned a brown pencil before so, I saw this from one of Jen's frmheadtotoe videos and I decided to try it out for myself. I'm super excited to try this out too, as I opened it up and immediately tried it on my brows. Hoping to write another review on this one as well!

Ok, so we all love freebies/samples, right? With every order, one is allowed to choose a sample of either a BB cream, sunscreen, or various other types of products. I chose the Lioele 3D Skin Fix foundation (the little black/pink pouch pictured above) and it came in the color "Pure Ivory," so I'll be looking forward to trying that out too~

P&C is also having a freebie promo right now. For every $20 you spend, you receive a pair of P&C glamour lashes. It's definitely a nice treat. :]

I'm liking the ones that I received. Very natural looking. Can't wait to try them out! (And perfect since my mom stole the lashes I got from bornpretty -_-)

My total came out to be $26.60 before shipping. Then, I used a code for 10% all Lioele products (lovelioele) which basically took off the shipping charge. So, my final check out total was $26.23.

All in all, I'm very pleased and happy with the efficiency of their store. Have any of you placed orders at P&C? What are some products you've bought and tried and are liking/disliking? I'd love to hear! Though...that may make me want to make another order sooner than I had planned. heh heh.

Thanks for reading!

And btw, IT FEELS SO GOOD TO BE BACK IN THE BLOGGER WORLD. ♡

Random: Put on a full face of make-up today when going to see the movie "Bridesmaids" with a friend this morning. Go figure that I'd get carded. LOL. Really now? JK...I'm taking it as a compliment. :3

Life: Guess who's back? Back again?

HELLO LOVELYS!

Oh my goodness...it's been forever since I've blogged and I wanna apologize for my absence. Life was seriously catching up to me (especially with school). Finals actually went pretty well considering I went on a super quick last minute trip up to the bay area (San Jose & San Fran) the weekend before finals week. :3 YUP, crazy right? HEH HEH.

Anyways, since I'm on summer break...I'm hoping to revive this blog and start posting again. I really do miss blogging and interacting with all my fellow readers and bloggers. ♡

Please look forward to many, many posts coming soon!
Hope all of you have been well!
