Feature: 4CTHEPOWER presents "ONE WAY"

Hi loves. Long time no post! I'm still working on proper posts to...post soo, here's a quick one for those in the LA area.

I'm part of a non-profit organization called 4CTHEPOWER and we're hosting a Japan relief show and a "meet n greet" with one of South Korea's newest groups, "ONE WAY"!! (Major bonus points to all of you who know/have heard of them. :D). Our head director along with some interns were lucky enough to meet up with Chance and Peter from One Way last month while they were in Korea, which lead to the organization of today's event! Woot!

All info is on the poster below as well as in the links:

Here are some of my fav. videos of One Way:

If any of you guys can make it out, that'd be awesome!
I'll be there. ^^

FOTD: Oh there they are!

Hello lovelies~ it's FRIDAY! :] I'm still waiting on word from my friend who's picking me up so, I thought I'd post another entry before leaving for norcal. ^^

Today, I did all of my last minute packing. We're only staying until Sunday but, I seriously felt like I was packing for a whole week! It wasn't really my clothes that I had a hard time with, but it was my make-up and all my other necessities. Aish. I'm pretty much all ready to go, but I better recheck everything just in case...

Anyways! I decided TODAY (though I'm YEARS long overdue), to get my eyebrows shaped. To be honest, I never really cared about my eyebrows until just recently. I don't know, but I thought they were fine. :3 But yes, just recently...I realized, "Hm, I think I should give my brows some shaping and actually have them appear on my face." Originally, my brows were all over the place; thicker in some places and quite sparse all around.

SO, I went to my local mall's ZiBA and tried out threading. DUDE, IT HURT! lol. Well, I knew it was going to hurt...whether I was going to have them waxed or threaded, but OH MY GOODNESS. Being a super noob, I actually teared a bit while she was doing it. lol. I liked how they came out though. ^^ She filled them in and did some highlighting but...I late smudged it all out since I didn't like how they looked SUPER defined (but that's just me~).

My mom was even like, "OMG! So much better! You can actually see you have eyebrows!" lol
(You can even see redness around my brows...oh my~)

Have you guys ever experienced threading before?
Was your first time as painful as mine? :P

Life: Annyeong. ^^

Hi guys! It's been a while since I've posted an update here...been so M.I.A....gomen! I've been reading my blogger dashboard but haven't been commenting so...hopefully I'll catch up with all of you soon. ♥ I've been in a weird mood this past week and I think it's mainly to do with school. I am enjoying my days off but, my Tuesdays and Thursdays are killer. BLAH. And the news of the Japan aftershock from this morning put my mood down a bit further. =[

Anyways, I'll be heading to the BAY AREAAAA tomorrow until Monday to celebrate a friend's birthday. I know it's gonna be cold (probably a lot colder than LA right now...) so I'll have to pack accordingly. If you have any suggestions of what I should bring, feel free to suggest! Gah, I fee like I have so much to do before tomorrow. Aiyah!

Until...possibly next week? じゃね〜!

(I'm not sure if I'll be able to blog while I'm over there but, you guys can follow me on twitter (click here) if you'd like. ^^)

Life/FOTD: ♡ Happy Birthday to my Mom ♡

Hi guys! Hope all of you had a wonderful weekend! Welcome new followers!! :D

My mom had a wonderful birthday celebration yesterday. The morning started out with me waking up late and her making her own cupcakes (fail... :3) but when she came in my room to wake me up for our Denny's breakfast, I quickly got up and gave her the present. She got so emotional and so did I~ aww...I ended up getting her these earrings (see link here),this Japan pack (see link here), some of the jane eyeshadow palettes I picked up from this haul, and some essence makeup brushes. ^^ After, we ate breakfast at Denny's and then shopped the whole day away!

Oh, and I finally went to a MAC and had one of the girls try out a foundation for my skintone. She tried NC-25 on me and I think it's a pretty good match. It's a little darker but, she blended it nicely and I think it gives me a lot of nice, natural and even color. She also applied a nice pink blush but, I don't remember the name. :3

FOTD:

Face - MAC Studio Fix? (I'm not sure) NC25, MAC MSF (not sure which one..), MAC blush
Eyes - UDPP, E.L.F. basics everyday palette, CG lash exact
Lips - tried Buxom Lip Plumper in "Gabby" (original plum shimmer)

What do you guys think? ^^

I did a little shopping too~ here's the things that I picked up:
belt and aviator shades from Love21 (essentially a store that carries all F21 accessories)
black shorts from the store on the bag.

Overall, we had a wonderful day out! We ate an early dinner at this Mexican cuisine place and had pizole and this fajita platter~ the mariachi band even came by and sang "happy birthday" to my mom. ^^

Afterwards, we setup for a little cake and ice cream and had my siblings come over along with my aunt and uncle.

Confetti cupcakes w/homemade coconut buttercream frosting~ yum!!

Family portrait~ I'd be nothing with out 'em. ^^

Thanks for reading!! :D
Time for me to do some major catching up with my school work. bleh.
じゃね〜!

Random: I love getting mail! :]

Second post of the day~ oh yeah, I said in my post from Friday that I was going to visit the INGLOT store but, we never got around to going. Boo. It's all good though, we all went mini golfing instead. And yes, MINI GOLF CHAMP in the flesh! Ye, ye, ye! :P

Today was one of those "MAIL" days! I received not one, but two things. :D

TARGET BEAUTY IS MY BAG
Signed up to get this freebie bag last month, and I finally received mine! I really thought that it either got lost or I didn't make the cut to receive one of these..but I guess since I'm on the west coast, it was a little slower compared to those on the east coast as well as in the midwest.

So many freebies in this cute little Sonia Kashuk makeup bag:
  • Pantene Pro-V Shampoo for Fine Hair - I haven't used Pantene in a very long time since I always found that it was too strong on my hair and dried it out way too much. But, I'll try this one out since my hair is pretty thin and will see if it can change my mind.
  • Nivea Express Hydration Lotion - This little lotion bottle's so cute and compact enough to put it in your bag, on the go. I've tried a different Nivea lotion (which I still have) and I find that it doesn't absorb as well as I'd like it to but, I'll see how this lotion works since it "softens" and "absorbs quickly."
  • Neutrogena Naturals Lip Balm - Ah yes! I love lip balm! Quite excited to try this one out since I've read pretty good reviews on this one. And it's in it's full size! Woo!
  • Fekkai SHEA BUTTER Shampoo+Conditioner - I haven't tried this brand before but I'm looking forward to trying this one. I'm getting tired of the ULTA ones I've been using.
  • Revlon Color Last sample in "HOT PINK" - I've read a lot of great things about this lipgloss by Revlon~ I love this packaging but, even after I read the reviews, I never find myself reaching for it since it's regular price is $7-$8. Hoping for a big Revlon sale soon!
  • & a coupon book with a bunch of useful coupons

Who doesn't like free stuff, right? :] Did any of you guys get this bag too? Have you tried any of the products? If you didn't get a chance to get this bag, have you tried any of these products? I'd love to know!

-----------------

And, I was totally not expecting this package to come in but...

Lady Gaga's Japan Relief Wristband
Little Monsters, show your support for Japan with this "We Pray For Japan" wristband! Choose your price to add an additional donation with your wristband. All proceeds go directly to Japan relief efforts.

Alrighty, I'm still recovering from my lack of sleep. -sigh- This is definitely not healthy. Meh.
I'm excited for tomorrow though. I've been thinking of various places I can take my mom to celebrate her bday~ I'll try to take pictures so I can show you guys later. ☺
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! じゃね〜!

Feature: Awesome Giveaways

Hello lovelys~! Hope you're enjoying/enjoyed your Saturdays. :] I had a super chill day at work since my "aunt" is on vacation so, the office was super stress free. LOVED IT! Other than that, I've been working on this catering order on Cafe World on Facebook (hey, don't judge me :P).

I don't really post about giveaways, but these two giveaways are by two awesome followers/commenters that I have come across here on blogger. Not only do they have their own great giveaways, their blogs are great too!

Look at how many pretty polishes she's giving away!
And, I think most of these are Australian exclusive. ^^

(Sharon's blog is my favorite nail blog here on blogger even before I started my blog. She's got great HQ shots of her different nail colors/manicures. I literally drool over every polish she puts on...thus leading me to go one the search for those same/similar ones. :P She's so sweet too.)

------------------------------------------

Not only does she have one main prize, but a 2nd and 3rd place prize as well!
So many goodies~ *o*

(Kenzie's so talented with her Etsy shop and her blog posts. I enjoy reading hers very much. ^^)

I've linked both of their blogs in the title of each giveaway post so, if you don't end up joining the giveaway, do check out their blogs! :]

Review: Jane Liners

Hi guys! HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S!! Hope you didn't get pranked~ heh heh. It's my first Friday off of the quarter and I'm loving it~! It really feels like a Saturday but, it's FRIDAY! FRIDAY! (ok, stopping now...^^).. A friend came over this morning and we watched a dvd and then went to eat at a Chinese cafe restaurant. Walnut shrimp and baked fish with rice, which both were soo yummay~ I'm still kinda full. :3

Anyways, I bought these liners two weeks ago @ Rite Aid (previous haul) and never got around to reviewing them 'til now.

Jane "gliding liners" + "one liners"

Price & Packaging: 97 cents (75% off!). For the price, you get quite a long pencil (in comparison to most others) which can last for a very long time. The quality of the "one liner" is a bit cheap since it is a click twist and it reminds me of those click twist crayons back in the day...lol. And, as I was swatching it, it broke. Boo.

Pencil "GLIDING LINDERS"

(L-R) - Molten, Blackest Ice, Scuba, Forest, Ice Breaker

"ONE LINER"
Coffeeline

Usage: They're not the greatest eyeliners but, for the price...they're definitely not bad. I haven't used them for my main eyeliner since I'm too into the black :3 but they do "glide" on well enough. The staying power of these isn't too long for my oily skin, but that's ok. If I set it with eyeshadow, it works. (I rarely line my bottom waterline though since it usually turns out to be a crazy smudge mess. T_T)

(L-R) - Molten, Blackest Ice, Scuba, Forest, Ice Breaker

You can't really tell from the picture (sorry! Camera isn't the greatest..) but they all have a slight metallic finish, which I kinda like. My favorite out of the bunch is "Molten" since it's such a pretty copper.

OVERALL RATING: 6.5/10
I could do without these pencils but, they are of average quality so it's all good. Besides, how often can you find 97 cents eyeliners? ;D

Would I recommend this to a friend?: If you find this for cheap, sure why not! I'm not sure if these are available any more though since it's not being sold at Rite Aid any more.

-------HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND!-------

It's my mom's birthday this Sunday so we'll be doing a lot of eating, shopping, and celebrating. Woo!!
(side note: I sent a little "thank you" envelope package to Dinorah last week and it arrived safely. Yay!)
