Eye shadows are one of my favorite make-up products to collect. I swear...all those pretty colors, how can I not resist? Though my eye shadow collection probably doesn't surmount to the collections of others, I think I have a pretty good selection from bright colors to neutrals. But one thing that they all almost all have in common: shimmers.
When I saw Becky's post from her blog Everyday Makeup Blog, I was instantly drawn! An all matte palette from WnW! I checked my local Walgreens soon after, but it wasn't until my second trip where I was able to pick this up. WnW palettes are known for their impressive pigmentation, and for the most part, this particular palette doesn't disappoint.
The little ♥ is so simple, yet so cute.
8 matte eye shadows in one palette.
Swatched from left column to right column; top to bottom. All swatched without a primer.
I was most impressed by the neutral colors in this palette. They swatched so effortlessly! The colors were a bit harder to swatch, as they were a bit chalky. From all the other blog posts I've read, it seems like the purple was the shade that most had difficulty with though. But, I don't think I'll mind that part as much since I don't venture into bright colors on a daily basis. And, since everything is matte, I feel like they won't be as intense for everyday wear if ever I feel..."colorful". And for $4.95, I really can't complain!
I believe these are limited edition 8 pan palettes, so if you're interested in a fairly good variety of matte colors and neutrals, visit your local Walgreens before they all run out! (I opted out in the LE baked palettes since I felt I had too many shimmey shadows at the moment...though I've been considering going back to see if they still have some at my local store.)
Do any of you have this palette? What are your thoughts? Have you picked up the other LE palettes?

I think I'm all packed for my mini getaway! My cousins' cousin is getting married this Friday, 11/11/11. I'm quite excited. :D I love weddings and dressing up. Plus, I think it'll be a mini family reunion. Definitely looking forward to it! Won't be having internet for posts, but I'll be back on Sunday.
And yes, been lagging on the commenting too. Now that I have my new phone, I use gReader before sleeping just to catch up on reading blog entries. Too bad there's no option for comments! Boo. Anyways, take care until...probably Monday.
Enjoy the rest of your week and have a wonderful weekend!
Oh, and I think I'm finally ready for my first blog giveaway.
Will post sometime next week. Stay tuned!

omg, thank you so much for sharing! I must have it now, I better check these out tomorrow because I so want it! lol Its a bummer that its going to be limited edition! They should just make it permanent since they need more eye shadow palette!
ReplyDeleteI really like matte too but it's not very forgiving if you make a mistake applying it! Love these colours and it's handy that it tells you where to apply which colour :) xx
ReplyDeleteAh, I wish i knew about this palette before I got a fellow blogger friend to ship me the WnW palettes I asked for T^T there's no WnW palettes available here in NZ so I had to resort to getting them sent from the US :D I love the pigmentation of the eyeshadows.. I just have an addiction to collecting colourful palettes ^____^ Please do an EOTD for us to see!
ReplyDeletehahah I think the problem with us girls that read too many beauty blogs is that we are absolutely obssed with shimmery eyeshadows and mostly forget about the matte ones! This one is super pretty! :D It's a bit of a shame that the coloured ones are a bit powdery, but like you said, I guess don't use them much!
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your minitrip away! :D Take photossssss! x
Have a great weekend! It sounds like it will be really nice and what a fun wedding date :)

I haven't been able to find this one yet, but since I love the other 8 pan palettes, I think I would like this one as well. I think I much prefer shimmery eyeshadows over mattes, but it is nice to have a matte shadow once in a while. Variety is always good :D
ReplyDeletei can't believe you got that palette for less than $5 bucks!! the cobalt blue and the sea green color are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteohh chalky is no good esp when it comes to eyeshadows! it looks like a good palette from the swatches though :)
ReplyDeleteOn my recent trip to the US I purchased my first WNW palette as I heard so many reviews on the pigmentation of the colors and I have to say they are quite pigmented! For the price I think these eye shadows are a bargain!

Agreed! Definitely a bargin for all the matte shades included in this palette. :]
ReplyDeleteI haven't used all the shades yet, but I'm hoping they'll apply ok. ^^
ReplyDeleteI know, right? Such a steal! Agreed. I like those two colors too.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Variety is definitely always good. :D
ReplyDeleteI hope you can find this one for yourself. :] You're welcome!
ReplyDeleteHope you were able to find it. :]

ReplyDeleteHoping to post it up either by today or tomorrow! :]
ReplyDeleteHaha. Yes...agreed. So many pretty colors. You're welcome.
You're welcome! Gotta love the neutrals.
ReplyDeleteWill we be seeing a post about your WnW palette soon? :] Hope you like it~
ReplyDeleteThank you! I had a lot of fun.
Thank you! :]
ReplyDeleteYes~ many tend to forget about matte shadows. I guess they're not as flattering on the eye, but I think with the right combinations...they can be! :]
ReplyDeleteAww. You'll love the other WnW palettes from your friend too. :] Heh heh. I love collecting colorful palettes as well! So hard not to. Ok~ will try to post one soon!
ReplyDeleteThat is very true. Must blend really well it comes to matte finishes! Yes, very handy! That's what I like about WnW palettes. :]
